Inspired by trumpeters, saxophonists and pianists, Scandinavian-American musician Ralph Hepola actually plays the language of contemporary jazz on the TUBA. Avant garde, traditional jazz and street bands include tuba, but rarely contemporary jazz, especially played by the leader.
